About

The person behind the practice

A little about who I am, how I work, and what to expect when we begin.

Hello

I'm Dylan — a qualified person-centred counsellor

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in full accordance with their ethical framework.

I came to counselling because I know first-hand how transformative it can be to feel truly heard — not advised, not fixed, just genuinely listened to. That experience shapes everything about how I work with clients.

I have spent over 30 years working in the sports media sector. Despite it being a hugely fulfilling, rewarding and increasingly supportive industry to work in - I also understand deeply the pressures and demands it can bring. Therefore this has become a specialist area for my work in the counselling world.  I help athletes through my work with switchtheplay.com and have close ties with the filmtvcharity.org.uk.

I work with adults across a wide range of life experiences. Whatever has brought you here — whether you can name it clearly or not — I will meet you with patience, warmth, and an open mind. There is no right or wrong way to begin.

Step by step

What to expect

01

Get in touch

Send a message or give me a call. You do not need to have the right words — a brief note is enough. I will respond within two working days.

02

Free introductory call

A 15-minute call at no cost and with no commitment — a chance for us to get a sense of one another before deciding whether to go ahead.

03

First session

Our first full session is a chance to settle in. We talk about what has brought you here, what you are hoping for, and begin to build our working relationship.

04

Ongoing work, at your pace

We meet regularly — weekly is most common — for as long as feels useful. There is no fixed number of sessions. You are always free to pause or end when you are ready.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

— Carl Rogers

I offer a free introductory call so we can get a sense of whether working together feels right. No commitment, no pressure.
